African Opal Cabochons

African Opal is mined from areas of Africa and Ethiopia. This mineral is usually semi-opaque to fully opaque, and while it has the word 'opal' in the name, it does not usually have the flash usually associated with opals.

African Opal comes in a variety of colors, including shades of brown and tan, cream, pale green, and delicate blues. The combination of colors of african opal cabochons, when cut and polished can appear as veins, splotches, or stunning fern-like feathers.

These gorgeous examples of African Opal Cabochons were cut in a Chinese factory. We found them while we were attending a local gem show off in a forgotten side tent, and just had to have them.

Quantity is limited! Get them while you can!
