Bloodstone Cabochons are cut from a dark green variety of chalcedony quartz. Bloodstone may have intermittent dots or streaks of red jasper mixed into it's green quartz base, though not all stones will have very obvious or large patches of red. Bloodstone is also sometimes called Heliotrope.
