Brown Goldstone Cabochons are cut from a man-made gemstone that is also sometimes referred to as sandstone. Goldstone can be either blue or a coppery brown and is speckled with tiny dots of copper metal flake that may almost look like gold.

Urban legend has it that goldstone was accidentally created by alchemists during their experiments trying turn other materials into gold.
