Red Jasper cabochons are cut from one of the many varieties of Jasper. Red Jasper is usually a dark brick red color, though it can also be lighter, with a more burnt orange color.

Sometimes red jasper is all one solid color, but not always. Some red jasper cabochons may have inclusions or seams of clear quartz, or the occasional black or grey markings.
