Lab created rubies have the same chemical composition and optical properties as natural rubies, but in many cases are actually more attractive while being less expensive because the colors are much more consistent in lab created ruby material.

Rubies are made of corundum which is very durable and has a Mohs hardness of 9, only slightly less than the hardness of diamonds. Our synthetic rubies are a gorgeous brilliant red with a slight pinkish undertone.
